Over the years we’ve found a happy medium by keeping a home base for 9 months and traveling to another region of the world for 3 months. We hate winter and my husband’s work dips that time of year, so it’s a good time to leave. It’s enough travel that we feed our wanderlust and enough home that we connect with family and our daughter can get engaged in regular activities. Keep tweaking your ideas and I’m sure you can find a happy medium.
