The reality of traveling with a toddler, is it worth it?

FlipFlopGlobetrotters.com - Blog: traveling with an infant - family on motorbikeTraveling with kids, some bloggers display it as heaven on earth, some bloggers say it’s absolutely undoable to visit faraway destinations with kids. So what’s it really like to travel with an infant or a toddler?

Review: Totseat – travel high chair

Totseat fabric kids chair for travel - travel accessory for kids

We traveled around South East Asia for 10 months with our infant son and one of the most used travel accessories during our trip was the Totseat foldable high chair. At 1,5 our son could easily sit on a chair by himself… if he chose to. But he was extremely active and didn’t like sitting still, so having the Totseat to keep him in his seat during lunch and dinner … Read more

New Year’s Eve in Bangkok… with a toddler

New Year’s Eve in Bangkok with our 2-year old is definitely one of our fondest travel memories. Would we, at any point before we left on this trip, have considered waking a 2-year old to roam the streets at midnight in search of fireworks? No way! But we did it anyway and had a marvelous time. Bangkok is one of our favorite cities in the world and it was very … Read more

Review: Hotel Sisters Inn – Moalboal, Cebu Island, Philippines

Where to stay in Moalboal, Cebu? If you’re looking for Moalboal accommodation, we can highly recommend Sisters Inn. Hotel Sisters Inn Moalboal is great value for money, certainly compared to a lot of the higher priced resorts around. Our first night we stayed at Sea Turtle House in White Beach, which was ok, but a bit above our budget. Especially since there were no other restaurants around and the food … Read more

Our visit to Wilpattu National park

The morning started really early. We needed to be in Wilpattu National Park just after sun-up to hopefully see some elephants, bears or leopards. So we got up at 5AM, woke Jace and got ready to leave. The owner of our guesthouse was already up. We thought he only arranged a driver for us, but to our surprise he was coming with us himself. Bevary Holiday Home is a nice … Read more

Discovering Cat Ba Island by scooter

When we got to Cat Ba Island it was raining on and off and it stayed that way our first day there. We were reconsidering our choice to stay, maybe it wasn’t such a good idea after all… But the second morning it was sunny! Time to rent a motorbike and go exploring! We drove around the island for a few hours, went to Cannon Fort and had a really … Read more

Makassar – South Sulawesi

Somehow Makassar wasn’t quite the place we thought it would be. It sounded a lot more promising when we read the information on the internet, but in our experience it’s dirty and noisy. Maybe it was because we were in a city again after having already been in Kuala Lumpur for 10 days. Maybe it was because we were tired and didn’t venture out much, except to get food. Maybe … Read more

Review: Manduca babycarrier

We’ve had our Manduca babycarrier since our little one was about 1 month old. It seemed more practical than the 5 meter long wrap that frankly I was struggling with a bit. In the first 1,5 years however we used the wrap a few times and hardly used the carrier. Where we lived it was so much more convenient to take him in the pram. But on the road things … Read more
